Looking for a unique, thoughtful gift that combines the beauty of flowers with the excitement of a gift card? Whether you're celebrating a birthday, saying thanks, or just want to spread some good vibes, a gift card flower bouquet is the perfect way to impress your friends and loved ones—and it’s super easy to make!
I made this for my friend's new baby and it was a big hit. You could use this idea for really any reason though. Back-to-school or Teacher Appreciation gift? Of course. Mother's Day Gift? You bet! Coworker gift? Yep.
What You’ll Need
Felt squares
A vase or vessel of some kind (I used a reusable cup with a cute message. You could use a cute mug, box, or basket.)
Gift cards (Amazon, UberEats, Ulta, local spots—pick what they love!)
Green wooden skewers
Faux grass/crinkle papers
Scissors
Nail glue or super glue
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Prepare your flowers
You can customize with however many flowers you need. If you want to have a lot of flowers consider lower denominations of gift cards. For example, you could have two $25 gift cards or five $10 gift cards. I did a mix of higher and lower denomination gift cards and ended up with seven gift cards.
Standard gift cards measure 3.375 inches by 2.125 inches so I think the tulip shape fits best to create little pockets for the gift cards. The felt squares that I bought measured 4 inches by 4 inches so I was able to make each tulip 3.76 inches by 3.75 inches. I used my cricut machine to make this super easy.
I also made various leaves to add to the stems to help fill out the bouquet.
Insert a wooden skewer into the bottom so each tulip will have some support to stand straight. Sandwich two tulips over the skewer and glue at the bottom and the left/right tips to make a pocket. This will enable you to slide the gift card downward into the pocket.
I didn't add the leaves until I had them all arranged in the vase because I wasn't sure how far I would have to lower each one to make a nice arrangement.
2. Prepare Your Base
Using whatever container you like as a "vase", add in your filler so the flowers will have some support. I used green crinkle paper strands but I think foam would have worked better because it would have been even sturdier.
The "vase" I used was actually a reusable glass that my friend could use.
3. Arrange the Flowers
Start inserting your flower skewers into the vase until they are arranged to your liking. I did some lower than others so they weren't all the same size. I then. added leaves to help fill it out.
4. Integrate the Gift Card
I removed each gift card from their holders and slid each card into a flower. The UberEats had to be folded since it was not the average size card.
