Weekly Digest: 11.6.21

I don't even know where we left off so let's just start with Halloween, ok? The neighborhood has a bunch of kids but because of everything with covid we weren't all that interested in giving out candy. And then at the last second we changed our minds and ran to BJs to see if we could find some good candy options. Unfortunately, there was no candy to be seen! we ultimately ended up giving out chips, goldfish, fruit snacks -- yep, we were that house this year. I didn't want to hand out the candy so we just set it up on a small table for the kids to pick from.

I love dressing up for Halloween, even if it's just to give out candy. For this year I dressed up as ratchet Little Mermaid and my dog was Flounder the guppy! we also carved some pumpkins (mine is the PacMan) and had some "mummy hot dogs" with broccoli au gratin potato rounds.
I spent the rest of Halloween watching Hocus Pocus since it's our tradition every year.

I was so excited for the weather this week because it was the perfect autumn crisp. You know what I mean? The leaves are laying on the grass, there's a breeze carrying the scent of burning leaves, and it's officially time to excavate the sweaters and Uggs from the depths of my closet. It gave me all the soup feels and we made our first chicken and matzo ball soup of the season.

If you're interested in a recipe definitely let me know. I didn't take enough photos of it but I would not mind having to re-make this soup!

I also had a work event in New York that was "Casino Night" themed. It was so much fun mingling with our clients, getting to know some attorneys from other offices that I had not met yet, enjoying some delicious food (the most delicious lobster rolls served tableside), and there were even prizes!

I was so excited with my swag that I brought home. I had been feeling that new bag itch and now I don't have to buy one but I still get to enjoy a new purse! It also came with a beautiful gold bracelet that I am looking forward to wearing this holiday season and beyond. It's a simple gold chain bracelet that I think will look good with so many things.

We recently found a new grocery store called Sprouts Farmers Market that has bulk items! I'm trying to be better with eliminating unnecessary waste and this might become our new favorite.

I was so excited because they have flow water and I am obsessed with it! If you have it in  a store near you and have not tried it I definitely recommend it. There are all different flavors and they are so refreshing after a workout or just in general.

And it wouldn't be a recap post without food!

The last thing for this recap is that I went to Simone Biles' Gold Over America tour! I'll do a whole specific post about because I took a ton of photos BUT for now I want to share this one.

Now questions for you:

1.    Have you gone to any concerts or events recently?

2.    Did you watch Olympic gymnastics? What's your favorite Olympic sport?

3.    What is your favorite thing about the fall?
