The Honeymoon Tour: Visiting the Cliffs of Mohrer

Day Three was our big adventure in Ireland. I had found the Cliffs of Moher online months before the honeymoon and we were interested in visiting them but we weren't sure if we would fit them in during our trip.

The Honeymoon Tour: Dublin - Day Two

On day two in Dublin we had three things on our list:
(1) sleep in. The back to back to back traveling and constant running around was starting to get to us and we just wanted a nice long rest. So we didn't set an alarm and we got up later in the day.
(2) Kilmainham Gaol.
(3) Guinness Factory Tour.

Weekly Roundup!

I can't believe how long it has been since my last Weekly Roundup/Recap post. I took a break for our wedding and then everything got so busy trying to recap everything that the weekly posts took a back seat! Anyway, let's see if we can't squeeze one in today yes? If you haven't read our honeymoon adventure definitely check it out here!

The Honeymoon Tour: Dublin - Day One

Our visit to Dublin started late in the evening so we didn't really do anything except wander around the hotel and create our plan for the remaining days in Ireland. Unlike Paris, we didn't plan exactly what we wanted to do for every single day, and unlike London, we didn't have a list of things we wanted to do, other than Guinness factory and the Cliffs of Mohrer really. Let's just say we were finishing up planning the wedding and we kept pushing our Dublin planning off. Well, now it was time to figure it out. We had a bite to eat at the hotel and then headed back to our room.We stayed at Clontarf Castle, which was a castle located about 10 minutes from Dublin.

The Honeymoon Tour: Liverpool - Day Two

We really only had half a day in Liverpool for day two since our plane to Dublin was in the evening, but we still made the most of it and managed to some pretty cool stuff into our half a day. First, we returned to Albert Dock for the National Trust tour of John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney's childhood homes.

The Honeymoon Tour: Liverpool - Day One

If you are a fan of The Fab Four then you know that they originated in a little English town by the name of Liverpool.

My husband is a HUGE fan of The Beatles and when we planned England as a honeymoon destination we both knew we would add a quick stop in Liverpool (only an hour or so train from London) for the Beatles-mania stuff. And how could you not start with the Magical Mystery Tour?

Honeymoon Tour: London - Day Four

On our final day in London we tried to move in with Kate Middleton returned to Kensington Palace for a tour. I learned something as we were waiting to go inside: the royal grass is cut by royal horses. Think I'm joking?

There is the royal lawn crew. Seriously.

The Honeymoon Tour: London - Day Three

Our third day in London proved to be an absolutely gorgeous day. Is it odd to you that I didn't notice it rain at all during our time in London?? Anyway, we spent day three doing some historic exploring and filling ourselves to the max on tea. We started at the Tower of London, which was a short walk from our hotel.

On our second full day in London we visited Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, and ended the day with a showing of the Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre on the West End. Buckingham Palace was only 10 minutes or so from our hotel so it was a quick walk on a nice day.

The Honeymoon Tour: London - Day One

Au revoir Paris, 'ello London! We were switching countries today so we began our day with our typical French breakfast and continued with a delicious lunch on the Eurostar...
...before arriving to Kings Cross (hello Harry Potter!).

The Honeymoon Tour: Paris - Day Three

We set our priorities for Paris like this...(1) Eiffel Tower, (2) fabulous food, (3) champagne, (4) sightseeing. By Day Three we had already accomplished the first three things on our list and it was on to the sight seeing portion of our visit. It also rained (and I mean RAINED) on Day Three so it was the perfect day to spend sightseeing indoors, not that we escaped the rain 100%.....you'll see.

The Honeymoon Tour: Paris - Day Two

On day two in Paris we woke up (I felt like I got hit by bus--thank you jet lag) and headed downstairs for our hotel's breakfast. I swear I am telling the truth when I say that the maid/waitress ran out and picked up fresh croissants from the cafe down the street every morning for all the guests. I told you it was a small hotel! I'm sitting here and my mouth is watering as I remember all the delicious morsels we had while in Paris. We took the train to Epernay, also known as "Champagne region," which is about an hour and a half outside of Paris. If you like champagne, you'll LOVE Epernay! Also, just a brief interruption--as I'm writing this I am watching a program on Versailles IN FRENCH (it's on the channel TV5MONDE) so that is sort of funny. I would try and write this post in French but I am not that skilled.

Our Wedding Story

I'm so excited to share my wedding day details with you! My husband and I were married on a gorgeous September day in 2017 in front of around 100 of our close friends and family.
My top three priorities for our wedding was: (1) a stunning wedding venue, (2) delicious food that would knock the socks off our guests, and (3) for our guests to have FUN. We didn't want anything too over the top and I'm happy to say I think we got it right! I can't wait to share it with you.

The Honeymoon Tour: Paris - Day One

The City of Lights....La Ville Lumiere! Our first day in Paris! Some quick trivia for you:
*Paris is nicknamed the City of Lights because it was one of the first cities to have electricity.
*Also, the name "Paris" is derived from the Celtic tribe known as the Parisii who were its early inhabitants. The city was called Lutetia Parisorum, or "Lutetia of the Parisii," during the Roman era of the 1st to the 4th centuries AD.
*The city was renamed Pairs during the reign of Julian the Apostate, whoever he was...

Good to know, right? We arrived in Paris on a blustery somewhat chilly day and my husband was able to successfully get us from l'aeroport to le taxi and from le taxi to to our very quaint (read: tiny) French hotel. We stayed at Hotel de Londres Eiffel, a family run small hotel with I think about 30 rooms. Could it get more French than this??

The Honeymoon Tour: Overview

How do you share roughly 2300 photos that you took on your honeymoon without boring people? Well, obvious answer: You don't. That would be super extra and overkill to max so I am planning to share highlights that I think would interesting to read about (and I hope you will agree)! If you're not into these types of posts check back a little later...for now we're going to be re-living what I nicknamed the "Honeymoon Tour." But if you enjoy looking at pictures of random places (maybe you've been there before; maybe you haven't) and hear stories from someone's experience then stick around for what's coming up!

Weekly Round-Up!

I'm so bad at keeping up with the weekly round up posts I try to do. I can't even remember where we left off but let's just pick up here okay?

My sister and I did a Painting With a Twist class because they were doing a Disney-themed Beauty and the Beast rose painting and my sister loves Beauty and the Beast. It might be her favorite Disney movie in fact!

I love these classes because you can bring your own wine or "adult juice box" to enjoy. It helps to get your creativity going and loosen those creative juices. Hah.
Working on the background was my favorite part.

I also went on a very intense site inspection in one of my cases this week. I'm adding "forest" to the list of weirdest places to have an inspection...

But afterward I stopped at a little ice cream joint to reward myself for not freaking out about being "in the wild" lol.
I got a peanut butter swirl and it was PERFECT for the hot day. I hated wearing jeans and my rubber boots but I figured there would be wilderness and it was best not to wear a skirt suit! But having my legs covered was SOOOO hot in the summer heat.
This past week I also got to approve our wedding flowers!!
These are the centerpieces and the bouquets. I love the happy vibrant colors. I think they will look beautiful!

We also finalized our table numbers. We just bought wooden bases and numbers at the local craft supply store and spray painted them silver to be prettier.
And lastly, I finalized the gifts for my girls! Bridesmaids gifts were something I stressed about because I wanted them all to be similar or equal but still girl-specific so each girl would understand that all of her efforts and patience during the wedding planning process were appreciated.
And yes, I'm THAT bride that buys their girls coordinating outfits to add to the festive "day of" atmosphere. I figured we could wear them while we got our hair and makeup done. The tank tops are so cute and they say "Best Day Ever" on them. I even bought one in black for me!

The wedding is coming up so fast now and I think I'll take a break until after I return from my honeymoon! I'll talk to you all later!

Celebrating my Birthday

Every birthday I look forward to having birthday dinner. Fiance treats me to dinner every year and this year I chose sushi. I was in the city because my firm was doing a CLE so my choices were endless. I chose Zama in Philadelphia and it was delicious!
