Seeing The Greatest Show on Earth

The iconic Ringling Brothers Circus made a triumphant return to Philadelphia this weekend. It had been years -- and my husband and I were going a bit stir crazy with the winter doldrums -- so we bought a couple last minute tickets.

Families from all over the area flocked to the Wells Fargo Center to witness the magic of "The Greatest Show" firsthand. As they entered the arena, they were greeted by the sights and sounds of the circus, with colorful banners, clowns, and performers setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.

As soon as we entered Wells Fargo there were the familiar sights and sounds of the circus. Colorful banners, clowns (though they no longer dress as clowns -- they wore bedazzled suits!), and performers setting the stage for an unforgettable experience with little video snippets while we waited for showtime.

There were a bunch of different acts, from cage runners, tightrope walkes (and bikers!), to aerialists. One of the acts was a group from Mongolia that had a particularly interesting performance. Audience members gasped in awe as they watched the daring stunts, and the skill and artistry of the performers were truly remarkable.

The circus also featured a variety of traditional acts, including clowns and  jugglers, and magicians, who entertained the crowd with their comedic antics and mind-boggling tricks. Children and adults alike laughed and cheered as we watched the talented performers.

And of course there was the human canon.

If you are heading to Wells Fargo, I highly recommend club level seats. You can order snacks right to your seat so you don't have to stand in line and there is a separate bathroom for just the club level. It is also much more reasonably priced than a box/suite.

Overall, the return of the Ringling Brothers Circus to Philadelphia was very enjoyable and reminded us of the circus of our youth. It once again reminded us why it is known as "The Greatest Show on Earth."
